In addition, I have regularly engaged in consultative work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team, as well as with carers, families, and schools, to support treatment delivery as well as develop support and risk management strategies.

In terms of the forensic arena I have experience working with a range of offenders in a secure hospital environment, including adolescents, adults and older adults. My experience includes working with those who fall on the autistic spectrum, have learning disability, psychosis, affective disorders and personality disorders. Offence histories of clients I have worked with are predominantly of a sexual and violent (i.e. homicide; GBH; rape) nature, as well as arson.

I have designed/adapted and delivered offence specific treatments for adolescents and adults, such as an Adapted Sexual Offender Treatment Programme, and undertaken extensive pre and post treatment assessment of risk. I prepare reports for CPA’s, tribunals, parole boards, family court and criminal court. On some occasions I have been required to give oral evidence at hearings for which I have prepared a report. These reports include assessments of risk, psychological functioning and capacity to engage in a trial process.

I additionally train other professionals in the use of structured risk assessments such as the SAVRY and START/START:AV, as well as other topics such as adapting interventions for neurodevelopmental difficulties, workshops for teachers on ADHD and positive behavioural support (PBS) strategies.
I have delivered a number of presentations at conferences and enjoy undertaking a range of research activities.
